House Of Night

Hey guys I wanted to talk to you guys about one of  my favourite book series (other than Harry Potter, Vampire Diaries, Twilight, The Immortals and Doctor who. Yes they seem to be mostly vampires:/). Now I love this series of books and I have for ages, just never thought of posting a blog about it. This series is not the usual kind of vampire stories.

In the fictional world of House of Night the change from human to vampire takes four years, during which time the adolescents, known as "fledglings," must attend one of the "House of Night" boarding schools. While there, they are required to take the Vampire Sociology 101 course to learn the dangers they face. If a fledgling is not close to adult vampires, the fledgling will die; so the fledglings rarely leave the school. About one in ten fledglings die anyway, since their bodies cannot tolerate the Change. For those who survive, there's a big reward: in the words of one of the authors, "Vampires are like Superman. They’re super-gorgeous. They’re super-talented. They’re super-men." Vampires are physically stronger than most adult humans, with accelerated reflexes, enhanced dexterity, life of more than five centuries, as well as heightened senses such as night vision.

The series main character is Zoey Redbird is the main character in the series and has, what I think one of the cooler powers you can get. She has an affinity to all the elements- earth, fire, water, earth and spirit, while her 'nerd herd' has an affinity to an element each. Damian is air, Shaunee is fire, Erin is water and Stevie Rae is earth, but I don't want to give too much away in relation to the story and what happens.

The authors P.C Cast and Kristin Cast (a mother and daughter duo) have used a lot of mythology in their story. The House of Night religion is, in the words of P.C. Cast, "heavily pagan and Wiccan based, with a huge influx of Native American myth and legend". Within vampire society, the primary Goddess is a benevolent female named Nyx who appears to Zoey at the beginning of the series and tells her that Zoey will be Nyx's agent in the House of Night. Nyx is derived from the lesser known Greek Goddess, Nyx. Vampires and fledglings cast a magic circle to communicate with Nyx or to harness the power of the elements: air, fire, water, earth, and spirit. Some demons from Cherokee mythology also play an important part in later volumes, and the Raven Mockers ^[ and Tsi Sgili are taken from real Cherokee legends.

I Love this series it takes the basic vampire we all know and dare I say love and twist it. Not only do people know who vampires are most people are accepting of them and also I love the idea of them going to a type of finishing school to learn about vampires history and what is happening to them. They are also kick ass in trying to save the world at the same time :)

Now if you would love to read this series, which I highly recommend there is about 12 books in the series and that is not including the novellas...

Merry Christmas

A little something to make you laugh :)

I thought I would put a post for videos and stories that have made me laugh. I don't know if it does broadcast in the UK or not but I love watching clips of the tonight show with Jimmy Fallon. I love his videos they always make me laugh and they cheer me up when I need it.

I am currently watching the segment called kid theatre.

The Vamps

So today in the post I got 2 things a dress that I am going to wear at a friends wedding and The Vamps CD with DVD. I looked at the dress and went no, it wasn't great quality so I am sending it back. It's a shame though because I waited like a month for it to come so not impressed!

But on the bright side I have The Vamps new CD it came with photo card, a mini poster, concert type pass and a DVD to the O2 concert back in may, which I did go with one of my besties. So I was just watching that and reminiscing.

So whilst on YouTube, as often am I came across this video in my recommended section. Yes it is Disney. Of course it is. I love Disney.

I clicked on this video on my link, it is a long one about 15 minutes but I love it the melody of Disney songs is really good. I brings together old classic like Hercules, Lion King and Cinderella with the new one like Tangled, Frozen and Enchanted. So if you know you love those films you will love this. She has made most of her own costumes, but I can't tell the difference to which is hand made and what is brought, tell me if you can :) She also did her own make up!

I just had a look on her official website to find out a little more and it says she's an elementary school teacher in drama and music. What age is elementary school? I'm from the UK so its a little different is about pre-school age which is about 4-5. Anyways sorry about that. Elizabeth has a amazing voice. Hello people of earth!

firstly I am so running out of ideas of what to name my posts!

So I have been trying for a while to get into the book I brought ages ago now, but I haven't been so successful so I am going to try and read some of the other books I brought. I brought a Michael Morpurgo book along with the Zoe Sugg book, and recently I brought a fairy tales book(the Grim Brothers) and a book called the Duff(the designated ugly fat friend). Yes the duff has been made into a film so I thought I would read the book:). so I think I am going to take a dip into the Michael Morpurgo book.

Hello to the wonderful amazing people who are actually reading this. First of all I would like to say thank you, thank you to you wonderful people who are reading this post now and who have been to this blog before. Yes you guys thanks bunch!!!

Secondly I would like to apologise for me not posting for a while but I am back with a post. I have started to sew with a sewing machine. and I have already made 2 pillow cases and if I do say so myself I did pretty well for my first attempt! I am so proud of them and they now have pride of place on my bed!! I so was not keen on the covers before, they were animal print and I'm not a big fan of animal print.

How you doin'?

Hey how are you guys this week?

Sorry but I don't have much to post this week. But I thought I would ask if you guys were up to anything special this week? has anyone watched a good film recently? at the moment I am watching pitch perfect 2 for like the billionth time. I love the pitch perfect films and I so can't wait until the third(yes I believe there is going to be a third pitch perfect!!). I so cant wait!

Anyways I might watch the new Cinderella film. is it bad that I still haven't seen it. I can't wait to watch it. I haven't seen many Cinderella films that I like. I loved the live action one called Ever After: A Cinderella Story staring Drew Barrymore. I loved that film. It was the first Cinderella film that I sat down and watched all the way through. I highly recommends this film!

Princess Rap Battle

Who else loves the princess rap battle??

For those who haven't seen it you are seriously missing out! Whitney Avalon stars in these videos and has a special guest to play the other character.

Okay so I am going to start with a couple of my favourite ones so first of all is Cinderella vs. Belle(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeZXQf77hhk). So Whitney stars as Belle (which I think she's a pretty good lookalike) and Sarah Michelle Gellar as Cinderella. For those who for some reason doesn't know who Sarah is look for Scooby Doo 1&2 and Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I loved this one and as I am playing it at this moment I'm rooting for Belle!

So basically the Rap Battles are obviously raps but they are trying to say that they are better than the other person. I find them funny the songs are so good, I could listen to the song all day everyday. You can even buy them on iTunes, that's the best bit, you can listen to them whenever you want. whoever thought of them, they are so creative! how did you think of this? Your better than me, I could never think of anything like that.

So I am going to post some more links for you to watch as a suggestion but I loved these as well.

Just a Post

Hey all how are you?

First things first I never know what to put as a title for these posts, it seems like they are all pretty similar. Anyways, I am a natural blond and I just had a blond moment. I went and typed up a tweet on Wednesday and posted it. Well I thought I posted it but I hadn't, I went on twitter about half an hour ago to find that the tweet had failed. I fail. oh well blonds will be blonds. Haha I am a natural blond and I say things like that about myself a lot!

So my last post about the pop figurines went down okay, I would love any input if you like this blog! I would love to hear your thoughts about it(that is if anyone actually reads this and not just clicks then goes back) I would be so happy! If there was anything you would like to see on here let me know too.

So I think that's it for now, time for Netflix I am going to catch up on one of my favourite programs Once Upon A Time!!!

Pop Figures

Does anyone else love the pop figures?

I love them I have started to collect them. I have about 9 now and my most recent one is the Eleventh doctor. Yes I am also a Whovian, I love Doctor Who. I also loved torchwood and the Sarah Jane adventures but that's something for another day.

The other 8 consists of Disney and Harry Potter. I have Harry, Ron and Hermione :D they are not bad lookalikes either. The Disney I have is Ariel(which by the way was my first pop and my favourite Disney film of all time!!!), Mary Poppins, Anna, Elsa and Honey Lemon.

A Post For Saturday!

Hey I know this is going to be my only post for Saturday. I am not going to be writing a review or anything its just to say 'Hi' and I hope you enjoyed your Saturday. So I started my Christmas and birthday shopping :O I know I said it. CHRISTMAS! I know its early but I always ended up leaving it to the last minute and panic. I have a few birthdays around Christmas anyway. Its best to get it done now I think.

Last post of the day!!

So its going to be my last post today. I am going to give you a heads up this week was my week of work so I had the opportunity to post whenever and tweet whenever but as of Monday I will be back at work so I may not post as much as I have the last couple of days. I will hopefully post at the weekend as the very least and anything else will be a bonus!

Thank you to everyone who has visited my blog and sat down to read my posts you don't know how much that means to me! I did this at first for a place to show my art work before I started to write my views on books and films and more recently YouTubers. For those that have read I say thanks again. Lezli Dax

Some recommended a YouTuber named Lezli Dax. Now she is a Cosplayer and impressionist.

The first video I scrolled and clicked on is Lezli doing an Ask Velma video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BntAJacDgdU). Lezli really sounded like Velma and I think that the costume she put together was good. There are a few videos of her impersonating the characters, mainly My Little Pony(if your into that). She has also done Disgust from Disney's inside out and Janine from Ghostbusters!!

Going through her YouTube channel I can see that she makes her own costumes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fA5DYSE8sWQ) this particular link is Lezli updating her Cosplay costume. She does explain what she did in the past with the costume and what she does to improve. Most of her videos is my little pony. BUT she does do videos about game of thrones and Disney(as a self confessed Disney fan I highly approve of this :D)

She was asked to do a Q&A as herself so this video is to get to know her a little better and she seem like a genuine person whos crative and imaginative. Also has a geeky side(but I feel we all do somewhere inside us) and shes not afraid to show us! I like that kind of person.

Alexander Obitz

So I had someone follow me on Twitter and I saw that he was a YouTuber so I though I would check him out and see what he dose...

Firstly on his Twitter I am pretty sure that it said he's Danish, your English is amazing!!!!!

So I looked him up on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdOrhzJU0_YTx8JjaAB47CA), firstly there is a channel trailer which tell us what he does and he does a few things like dares (I dare Obitz) and challenges, covers to songs and game walk through. There is a game walk through, he recorded himself doing an operation simulation. Which was strangely fascinating and funny.

I watched him do a cover to let it go (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uk20EozXhc) not a bad cover I have seen and heard much worse. It's defiantly a version that I have never heard of, it's not bad. But everyone seems to be doing a cover to let it go. He also does other covers such as the cups song from pitch perfect to name one.

Next I watched him do the lemon challenge (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHkQ_sKhobs) and it is the funniest thing I have ever seen. Who thinks of these thing and why on earth would you eat an uncooked lemon is beyond me but you managed it Alexander, with all the funny faces and noises you are making I have never laughed so much. I feel for you with the lemon juice on your cut :(. I don't know how but he managed to eat one and a half lemons and this video is worth a watch.  Also looking through his videos he has completed a hot pepper challenge (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HBHHW7XVv4) feel free to watch!

Personally I don't think this YouTuber is entirely my cup of tea. I do enjoy the challenges and the cover videos but the gamer side isn't so much. But for those who enjoy games such as racing and operations (just the ones I have seen so far) Go ahead and watch you will really enjoy it.

Brizzy Voices

While I am on a roll tonight I wanted to write a post tonight of this amazing YouTuber called Brizzy and she does impressions of cartoon characters, and may I add that she is amazing (https://www.youtube.com/user/brizzyvoices). I came across this channel one day and I'm so glad I did. She is so good at what she does and never fails to put a smile on my face.

New books

Wow 2 posts today and not far behind I'm going into shock I don't know about you! Hahaha but seriously I have two new books that I have brought today...

So I have brought girl online by Zoe Sugg but some people might know her as the YouTube blogger Zoella (https://www.youtube.com/user/zoella280390) and Listen to the Moon by Michael Morpurgo. I have watched a few YouTube videos from Zoella and I did enjoy them so when I saw it in the bookshop today I was intrigued, so this will be the first book I will read. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed Michaels books previously. In the past I have read Private Peaceful, Kenzuki's kingdom, wreck of the zanzu bar and the amazing stories of Adolphus Tips (I apologise un advance if my spelling is not correct).

I can't wait to read and finish the books. Have any of you read the books and what did you guys think? let me know I would love to hear your thoughts on these books.

Back!!!!!!! (Again)

So again I have been super busy and I haven't had much time to post. I have never been 100% on what to write in this blog. So I have been writing about what I liked and anyone wanting to rad it could look and comment and if they are contemplating on reading/watching the film or program they could. I started another blog for my drawings and to show you what i could draw. But it's was finding the time to draw and upload. So I decided to do a mixture of it all. 

Please I would love your opinions on what I could put and how I could improve and even what you think (that is if anyone is reading this blog- I hope there is because I would be talking to myself....)
